So often trees in the park are mashed together, so when I came upon this guy, I couldn’t not get down in the wet grass to take his photo.
He looked too nice against the blue sky and fluffy clouds to worry about getting duck poo on my jeans!

Fantastic composition! It feels weird not seeing the base of the tree, but WOW—those colors really pop! Love that blue sky.

I would have tried that shot both portrait and landscape [ I mean you have duck poop knees already go for it! ]. You might have gotten more of the lonely look. It really looks like SPRING has sprung. Lovely blue in the sky and fluffy clouds.
Thanks Jen! I have a few versions of this photo, both in landscape and portrait, but this one spoke to me the loudest. :) I plan on going back in a few days when the sky clears and give it another try!

I took a few in this spot, both vertically and horizontally, but this one turned out the best, I thought. Based on all the feedback I’ve gotten I plan on going back to that spot when the sky clears up a bit and give it another try. :)
