May 8th, photo of the day: white fluffy flower (technical name)

I’ve noticed lately that I’m not seeing as much Indian Plum anymore, in any stage of growth. I’m not sure if this because I’m no longer going to places where it lives (it doesn’t feel like this is true, it feels like I’m going to same types of places as before, but micro-climates can be finicky I guess).

Instead, what I am seeing are these fluffy white flowers that grow in popcicle-shaped bloom clusters.

They were very bee-friendly

I love this one! It was taken using an extension tube. I know it’s not super crisp, and it’s too bright, but I like it all the same. It’s dreamy.

Do you know what this flower is called? I’d love to find out!

Sweet Shot Tuesday Turns 100!

Though I’ve only been participating for the last few months, I wanted to help celebrate Sweet Shot Tuesday’s 100 birthday too.
Darcy at My3boybarians wanted us to show some form of 100 in our photos this week.

“One hundred items in a photo. One-hundred-year-old people or buildings or cities. 100 ideas. I don’t care how you interpret it, but please help me celebrate our 100 Tuesdays together with a 100-theme photo. Feel free to be creative and employ whatever artistic license you’d like”

I will simply offer the photo I took last month of my great-aunt Edith. She turned 100 on April 16th.

Happy Birthday Great Aunt Edith!

And Happy Birthday, Sweet Shot Tuesday!

Thanks Darcy, for hosting this fun weekly motivation! :)
