Isaac and I, along with about 20 other people went back to Titlow Park in Tacoma this morning to continue working on the restoration project that the REI and Tacoma Parks Department are doing in the park.
Last month, we cleared a sizable area of berry bushes, dead tree limbs, and whatever else was growing there (that wasn’t supposed to be). You can check out my post about that day, here. Today’s focus was ivy, which was apparently planted by some parks people of the past.

REI had several activities for kids to do today, to kick off their “Family Summer Adventure Program” (or something like that). There was a geocaching booth, build your own trail mix, and bandana making. The bandana making thing was actually pretty cool (Isaac and I both made one); you tape a leaf to a bandana, then you pound the living daylights out of it. then you un-tape the leaf, and you have a snazzy leaf transferred onto the bandana! Not sure how it would hold up in the wash, but nevertheless.
