April 28th, Day 118: Long Exposure of a Tree Trunk

Isaac and I went camping this “weekend” (ours, not yours!). We didn’t leave the house until 5:30ish on Sunday, because I had to work that day.

So, the sun was already on it’s way down when we finally got to our site and got everything all set up. It was cloudy, but hadn’t started raining yet (that came later, and in torrents!).

I looked up, and liking what I saw, sat down on a log to try and capture it.

*No tripods were harmed in the making of this photo, though maybe if I wasn’t lazy, they should have been!

October 25th, photo of the day: Birds of a Feather

I stopped by pigeon paradise today, on my way to work.

There were close to thirty of these guys hanging around between two street lights and the ground.

I wasn’t sure exactly how I wanted to compose them when I first got there, so I ended up with several variations. After I’d been there for a few minutes, the birds began to get a bit agitated -even though they were far above me- and started to take off, one by one.

I cropped this one and converted it to black and white with a touch of color.

May 11th, photo of the day: Seat in the clouds

Alright, well I wanted to give you something good today, going into the weekend, but it’s now 9:42pm and I have nothing written.

So, instead of verbiage, here is a photo. I found this chair, randomly sitting on the side of a trail. I thought maybe it was marking something; the location for a drug deal, the entrance into a homeless camp, but in looking around I found nothing along those lines. Ah, well, it was fun to play that I’d happened upon something crazy.

Which do you like better, b&w or color?

Photo of the Day, March 22nd: Kitchen Sink

At first I was looking for interesting splash patterns, but I caught one drop just as it hit the sink bottom, and I realized I had something much more interesting here!

This is entry for photo friday: fleeting

My favorite

I added some contrast to this photo in Photoshop, and converted it to black and white. I like the grittiness of it.

Here are a couple others:

I wish this was a little crisper

one of those pattern photos I was telling you about

Maybe too much grittiness?
