July 28th, Day 209: The great ducky race

The town of Renton has a little festival each summer called Renton River Days. It’s a family event with games for the kids, and booths similar to those found at a farmers market.

The main event is when they release thousand of rubber duckies into the Cedar River, where they all race down the current to the finish line.

I happened to be working at the downtown library today, which sits directly over the river, offering front row seats for everyone inside!
